Very tasty, honey sweet, thin peel.
Sarah S. (DE)

Originally from southern Mexico, Mango Ataulfo has earned a devoted following thanks to its silky flesh and naturally sweet, honeyed flavor.

Almost completely fibreless, with smooth flesh that melts in the mouth and develops notes of honey, peach, apricot, and tropical flowers.

Naturally rich in vitamin C and containing fibre, Ataulfo is as nutritious as it is smooth and easy to eat.

Carefully harvested at maturity so each mango completes its ripening journey after picking, developing full aroma and sweetness.

How To Eat & Store

Step 1 — Check ripeness

Gently press the mango; it should yield slightly without firmness.

Step 2 — Slice and open

Cut along the flat side of the stone and twist the halves apart.

Step 3 — Scoop and enjoy

Spoon the golden flesh directly or slice into chilled wedges.

Storage

  • Ripen at room temperature · Refrigerate once soft
  • Best eaten within 2–3 days after full ripening

Description

Why so many mango lovers choose Ataulfo

Ataulfo originated in the Mexican state of Chiapas, where it was selected from local mango trees in the 1960s. Its ancestry likely traces back to mangoes introduced from the Philippines centuries earlier, a heritage still reflected in its silky flesh and distinctive honey-like flavor.

Small, bright yellow, and elegantly curved, it stands apart from the larger red-and-green mangoes most people are familiar with. Its cheerful appearance is part of the charm, but what keeps people coming back is what's inside.

One of the reasons this variety has earned such a loyal following is its consistency. When properly ripened, it offers generous flesh, very little waste, and an almost fibreless texture that's easy to enjoy with nothing more than a spoon.

A good Ataulfo should never be judged by its appearance alone. As it ripens, the skin may develop small wrinkles and soft spots. Far from being a defect, this is often a sign that the fruit has reached its best eating stage. The flesh becomes softer, more aromatic, and develops the rich honeyed character that made the variety famous.

Today, Ataulfo remains one of Mexico's most popular mangoes. Approachable, reliable, and wonderfully easy to eat, it's often the variety people return to once they've discovered it.

Reviews Summary
Customers say these mangos are exceptionally sweet, juicy, and flavorful with a honey-like taste and creamy, buttery texture. Many describe the fruit as incredibly aromatic with intense tropical flavor that melts on the tongue. The mangos typically arrive at perfect ripeness, ready to eat immediately, though some benefit from a few additional days of ripening. Customers frequently mention the superior taste compared to supermarket varieties and appreciate the fiber-free, smooth flesh. Several note the small size but emphasize the outstanding flavor makes up for it. Most find them irresistibly delicious and plan to reorder regularly.
