It’s an explosion of flavour, sweetness and finesse.
Christiane (FR)

Thailand’s most prized mango variety: Nam Dok Mai ('Flower Nectar') is celebrated across Asia for its elegant shape, floral aroma, and exceptionally refined eating quality.

Silky fibreless texture: a smooth, melting flesh with intense floral honey sweetness layered with delicate hints of citrus and vanilla.

Almost flat stone: more flesh to enjoy.

How To Eat & Store

Step 1 - Check Ripeness

The Nam Dok Mai is ready to eat when its skin turns golden-yellow, releases a rich floral aroma, and yields slightly. Black spots on the skin are also a sign of full ripeness.

Step 2 - Open

Slice lengthwise along both sides of the flat central stone.

Step 3 - Option 1: with a spoon

Simply scoop the flesh out with a spoon.

Step 3 - Option 2: hedgehog style

Score the flesh into cubes and invert the skin.

Step 4 - Enjoy

Best enjoyed fresh straight from the skin, blended into smoothies or lassi, paired with sticky rice in the classic Thai style, or sliced into vibrant tropical salads.

Step 5 - Storage

If needed, allow the fruit to ripen naturally at room temperature 1-2 days more.

Once fully ripe, store it in the refrigerator and consume within 2–3 days for the best flavour and texture.

Taste Profile

The Nam Dok Mai mango is the essence of floral honey: intensely aromatic, exceptionally sweet, and completely free of stringy fibres. Its silky flesh melts effortlessly on the palate, unfolding layers of honey, vanilla, and delicate tropical blossom. Revered across Asia as one of the finest dessert mangoes, it sets the benchmark for what a truly premium mango should taste like.

Where It Begins

How It's Grown

Carefully sourced from selected Thai growers who follow traditional cultivation methods with minimal intervention and reduced chemical usage, allowing the Nam Dok Mai mango to develop its naturally rich aroma, sweetness, and silky texture.

Description

Nam Dok Mai: a premium Thai dessert mango

“Nam Dok Mai” translates to “Flower Nectar” in Thai — not as marketing poetry, but as an exact description of the fruit itself. Fully ripe, the Nam Dok Mai mango delivers an intensely floral honey sweetness layered with tropical brightness and soft vanilla notes, all carried by silky flesh completely free of the stringy fibres found in many other mango varieties.

In Thailand, the Nam Dok Mai mango is considered a premium variety, traditionally presented at formal occasions, gifted as a sign of respect, and served in high-end restaurants. Elegant and elongated in shape, it develops thin golden-yellow skin and deep golden flesh with a fragrant aroma.

Unlike many mango varieties, which often contain fibres, the Nam Dok Mai mango offers a smooth, melting texture with nothing distracting from its pure sweetness and perfume-like flavour. It is widely regarded as one of the finest eating mangoes in Asia.

The Nam Dok Mai mango is carefully air-shipped from Thailand and arrives on your table within around 5 days of harvest, ensuring optimal freshness.

Slice lengthwise along both sides of the flat central stone and experience one of the world’s most refined tropical fruits at its aromatic peak.

    Mango Nam Dok Mai

This type of mango has fibre-free flesh with a creamy consistency, and the core is really very flat compared to other types of mango, which leaves a lot of flesh for consumption. In terms of size, this mango is between Ataulfo and Kernt. Despite everything, unfortunately the (flowery?) Taste is not convincing (but tastes can be argued about 😅)
