How To Eat & Store

Step 1 - Refrigerate Immediately

Remove all packaging upon arrival and store the jackfruit in the refrigerator.

Step 2 - Oil Hands and Knife First

Jackfruit releases a natural sticky sap, so lightly coat your hands and knife with oil before cutting.

Step 3 - Enjoy the Golden Pods

Remove the golden flesh from the seeds and enjoy immediately.
The seeds, the fibers and the fibrous core are edible cooked.

Step 4 - How to Store

In the refrigerator, unpacked. Best enjoyed within 5 days for optimal flavour, texture, and freshness.

Interesting to know about Jackfruit

Its name comes from the Malay word chakka derived from the Sanskrit word chakra, which means round.

The jackfruit probably appeared during the explosion of life that occurred in the secondary era, that of the dinosaurs. This period saw the birth of the very first fruit trees, about 110 million years ago. That is to say that jackfruit is an ancient fruit !...

In Thailand, the jackfruit is a lucky tree. Thus, each family willingly plants at least one of them in its garden. Moreover, according to Thai folklore, copper is a metal with magical properties; this is why the seeds of the jackfruit, which naturally have a coppery aspect, are used as a talisman to be carried on oneself in order to protect oneself against injuries.

Fruits in excellent condition
Having ordered 2 kg of fruit, I received 2 servings packed separately and carefully.
Using only the yellow flesh, cut into small cubes, I was able to make 8 jars of jam, with blond cane sugar, topped with a little agricultural rum and a large glass of mixed pineapple/mango juice for more fluidity.
A hand blender will give it a nice texture.
Great taste.
Expect its atypical smell, without it being that of durian.

It was sweet and exactly the way I used to have back In my home country India.
The jackfruit was fresh, sweet and tasted exactly the way I remember. I was nostalgic while having it. The price was a bit on the higher end, but definitely worth it if buying it once in a while for cravings. All in all, thank you so much for giving this experience all the way in Germany.
