A small papaya variety loved for its sweet flavor, creamy texture, and almost melon-like aroma.

Smaller than most papayas, but more flavorful, with vibrant orange flesh that tastes rich, juicy, and naturally tropical.

Easy to digest and naturally rich in vitamin C, beta-carotene, and papain, an enzyme traditionally valued for supporting digestion.

Picked at the perfect moment for flavor and carefully transported to finish ripening naturally at home.

How To Eat & Store

Step 1 - Check Ripeness

It is ripe when it yields slightly under finger pressure.
Its skin may be half green or yellow.

Step 2 - Open

Halve lengthways. Scoop out seeds (keep them if you want, they're edible). Scoop flesh or peel.

Step 3 - Serve

With a squeeze of lime · In smoothies · In fruit salads

Storage

• Ripen at room temperature
• Once ripe: refrigerate and consume within 3–5 days

Taste Profile

Golden Papaya is soft, juicy, and intensely tropical, with creamy orange flesh that tastes like melon, mango and rasperry blended together. Sweeter than most papayas, with almost no musky notes. Add a squeeze of lime for extra brightness, or a spoonful of passionfruit if you want the tropical flavors to explode even more.

Description

Papaya Golden: sweet tropical flavor & natural digestive benefits

In many tropical cultures, papaya has traditionally been appreciated as part of the diet in relation to digestion. This is partly due to papain, a proteolytic enzyme found in the flesh and especially concentrated in the seeds, which can support the breakdown of proteins during digestion. It has been isolated and studied, and is used in a variety of food and technical applications.

The Golden papaya has golden-yellow flesh and a sweet, tropical, slightly musky flavour that makes it one of the most enjoyable fruits from tropical regions. When fully ripe, its texture becomes soft and melting rather than firm or chewy. A squeeze of lime can enhance its flavour and add brightness.

Papaya is naturally high in vitamin C, which contributes to normal immune system function and helps protect cells from oxidative stress. It also contains folate, potassium, and beta-carotene, which the body can convert into vitamin A. In addition, it provides naturally occurring compounds such as lycopene, along with flavonoids and other phenolic substances.

It can be enjoyed simply halved and scooped with lime, blended into smoothies, or added to fruit salads. It also works well in savoury Southeast Asian dishes, where its mild sweetness pairs nicely with chilli, fish sauce, and citrus.

Papaya Golden, there is no better name

Papaya Golden is a hearty treat for the eye.

It's about taste, (now Dutch: een Engeltje plast je op de tong). I'm not going to translate that.

Medicinal pulp and seeds are, for me, a

support, have a very positive effect.

Beautifully ripe - perfect for immediate consumption

I have never had such a juicy ripe papaya in any shop or health food store here. The seeds are completely black, which is not always the case with fruits available in Germany.

The seeds have a very pleasant spicy/slightly peppery taste and the flesh is very juicy and fully ripe.
