How To Eat & Store

Step 1 - Check Ripeness

Yellow-orange skin, fragrant aroma = ready.
This papaya can be enjoyed slightly firm.

Step 2 - Open

Halve lengthways. Scoop out seeds (keep them if you want, they're edible). Scoop flesh or cut it into slices (peeled or unpeeled).

Step 3 - Enjoy

Natural · With lime · In smoothies · In fruit salad

Step 4 - Storage

• Ripen at room temperature
• Once ripe: refrigerate and consume within 3–5 days

Red Lady papaya is a hybrid variety prized for its deep red flesh, concentrated sweetness, and rich tropical aroma. Popular in premium fruit markets, it is valued for its consistent quality and exceptional eating experience.

Its flesh is darker and more vibrant than standard papaya varieties, with naturally high carotenoid content and a fuller tropical flavour.

Papain, the natural enzyme found in papaya, is present throughout the flesh and seeds. The black seeds are edible, lightly peppery, and can be used in salads or as a spice substitute.

Naturally contains vitamin A, vitamin C, and beta-carotene. Best enjoyed fresh, with a squeeze of lime.
