After learning about the adventurous story of the banana in the 20th century in the podcast “Geschichten aus der Geschichte” episode 321, I really wanted to find out for myself whether Gros-Michel really came close to this well-known synthetic banana flavor. And in fact, after watering or soaking the dried fruit for over 12 hours, I was able to experience the full taste and now understand the design of the artificial banana aroma and - but above all the much more complex aroma of the “original banana”.

Tried it for the first time and I'm delightfully delicious!

You have to love it, otherwise it's like me. I imagined a firmer consistency, like fireplace roots or salami sticks. But it is more like dried dates. A bit cheesy for my taste.
