It's a pity that you didn't like our dried persimmons.
Our products are deliberately natural, raw and contain no added sugar, aromas or preservatives. As a result, they often taste less sweet and more intense than many Asian products, which are often more heavily processed in conventional trade, for example with heat, added sugar or other ingredients for a softer texture and a very intense aroma.
Of course, you can't directly compare that in terms of taste. Especially if you are used to the Asian version, the difference is often obvious.
We hope that our other products will be more convincing to you.

A big fan of persimmons, I also like those dried the Japanese way (hoshigaki) bought from other producers, in Spain for example.
I am a bit disappointed with these ones, of fairly average quality, covered in powdered sugar and a bit rubbery.

As for the aspect you mention, it's not about added powdered sugar. The white veil you're looking at is natural sugar that rises to the surface during the traditional drying process. This is a typical phenomenon for dried persimmons, especially when they are prepared by hand.
That said, we fully understand that the texture may vary slightly from batch to batch and may not always meet expectations, especially if you are used to other producers.
