Reviews Summary
Customers say these dried fruits have a distinctive, complex flavor profile with olive-like, herby, and slightly bitter notes. Many describe the taste as savory, salty, and crunchy, with some comparing it to a mix of avocado and cheese. Users find the texture satisfying and appreciate the rich, concentrated flavor. Several mention the taste is an acquired one that grows on you over time. Some customers enjoy pairing them with cream cheese or adding them to salads. While most reviews are positive, taste preferences vary significantly - some find them too bitter or acidic initially. Many reviewers become repeat purchasers once accustomed to the unique flavor.

Dried safu is very tasty !

However, a real hit that will satisfy not only enthusiasts is dried safu. To soften the hard safu skins, I poured boiling water over them and let them sit for a few minutes. After straining them from the hot water, the skins became crisp, almost soft, and can be eaten like other dried fruits. They're perfect as a garnish for Camembert cheese. The cheese can then be garnished with pieces of dried safu and enjoyed with relish. If you want, you can sprinkle the whole thing lightly with pepper and salt.

Ich rehydriere die und pack sie mit Avocado in den Salat. Leicht gewöhnungsbedürftige Bitterkeit doch man lernt sie lieben!

    Unusual

They really taste like olives with a slightly bitter note. Takes some getting used to at first, but then have a certain addictive factor. Enjoy eating them with cream cheese.

    Unfortunately not my taste

My first Safu experience. Unfortunately they don't taste too bitter to me. Soaks marginally better.

Maybe I'm doing something wrong, or it's just a matter of taste. Still, I'm thinking of trying the fresh fruit someday.

    Hallo Pawel,
