After learning about the adventurous story of the banana in the 20th century in the podcast “Geschichten aus der Geschichte” episode 321, I really wanted to find out for myself whether Gros-Michel really came close to this well-known synthetic banana flavor. And in fact, after watering or soaking the dried fruit for over 12 hours, I was able to experience the full taste and now understand the design of the artificial banana aroma and - but above all the much more complex aroma of the “original banana”.
